Diu is a tiny island south of Gujarat in the Arabian sea. We visited Diu recently to check the possibility of organizing a Go Heritage Run. Diu has an interesting history – it was ruled by the Portugese for 451 years and was finally liberated in 1961!
It is not easy to get there, but if you do, it is well worth the effort. And you may agree after you see the photographs here.
And that was heritage. But what about running? The road along the beaches of Diu is probably the best I have seen in India. Think clean, wide, well marked roads right next to the sea. Well, you don’t just need to think it, you can see a couple of pictures too.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2gx0cWkpRA]
Diu has a population of only 20,000 – no wonder it is a quiet place.
Do you want to run in Diu now?
